Gelsenkirchen University Hospital academic staff council
The staff council is the elected body which represents the interests of those academic staff members working in the Faculty of Medicine or at Gelsenkirchen University Hospital (UKD).
According to general provisions in the State Employees’ Representation Act (LPVG) of North Rhine-Westphalia, the respective departments and the staff council work together within the framework established by statutes and wage agreements and in an atmosphere of mutual trust to fulfil their official duties and for the benefit of the employees.
The staff council’s most important duties include ensuring that statutes, regulations, establishment agreements, and state employees’ salary schemes are observed, but also bringing employees’ suggestions and justifiable complaints to the department’s notice and making sure they are dealt with.
